About The Block
The original series first ran for two consecutive seasons in 2003 and 2004, and was originally hosted by Jamie Durie.
The Nine Network revived The Block after a six-year absence, with a third season commenced airing on 22 September 2010, this time hosted by television personality and builder Scott Cam. Shelley Craft joined as co-host from the fourth season.

They were looking for couples between the ages of 18 and 65.
Early in April 2022—the day before filming was to start—sources indicated that a competitor had tested positive with COVID-19.
Filming began in the middle of April after a one-week delay.
Eligibility criteria & requirements for The Block 2022
Here are the Eligibility criteria & requirements for the block auditions 2022 :
- Applicants must be over 18 years old • Applicants must live in Australia for the purposes of the Production
- Applicants will need to take a week off work during the shoot.
- Applicants must fill out all parts of the application, including sending in photos, or else their applications won’t be looked at.
- You can only apply online. Due to the number of applications, only those who are chosen will be contacted.
- If you have a criminal record, you must say so on your application, and if you are chosen, you will have a police check as part of the casting process.
